Betty's True Love

Chapter 1
Betty awoke one morning ready to start another school day at Riverdale High , it was the first week of October and Betty was still as excited about school as she was on the first day. She had always been a cheerful person, but something was odd about this morning. Betty stood up and walked over to her closet pulling out a pair of white washed blue jeans and a pink blouse. Betty felt it quite necessary to take a shower to start the day. She was ready in thirty minutes fixing her headband on her slightly straitened hair. Betty grabbed her backpack and headed downstairs. Ms. Cooper was already downstairs reading the newspaper as she enjoyed her coffee. Ms. Cooper looked up when Betty entered the kitchen and picked up her toast and apple. "Bye Mom." Betty said as she kissed her mother on the cheek then continued out the front door. She half expected to run into Archie as she started to head down the street. She finished her toast and just as she was about to bite into her apple she heard a familiar voice say "Bets' you know very well that sharing is caring."Betty laughed as she turned and saw Jughead Jones leaving his house and walking towards Betty. Betty tossed him the apple as Betty asked him almost nonchalantly "Did Arch tell you if he was going to be sick today?" Jughead's face scrunched up out of a sickening rage, Betty thought that Jughead was still eating. Jughead tossed the core away as they passed a trashcan simply answering "No, he didn't talk to me recently." Shoving his hands into his pocket he let his thoughts wander and suddenly his eyes got distracted by Betty's blonde hair. Jughead looked at Betty she looked so beautiful, she always looked beautiful. Then suddenly he smelled something delicious and asked "Do you smell that?" Betty looked around and said "Smell what?" Hoping that she had put on deodorant. Jughead replied "It smells like Cookies," Betty replied "Oh my mom was baking when I went into the kitchen but I didn't know what."  Jughead replied "Well it smells delicious!" Betty laughed and Jughead was about to say something when Reggie Mantle appeared out of nowhere in his sports car slowing down and calling "Hey Betty, Drop Needle nose and get to school in style. Reggie Mantle Style." Smiling at Betty. Jughead was almost as Angry as Archie when Reggie tried to steal Veronica for the prom last year. Both Betty and Jughead replied "Drop Dead Reggie Mantle!" Reggie drove off humiliated as the two friends looked at each other and laughed.
