Betty Cooper jumped off from the nurse's table and ran to the cafeteria. Ron and the Nurse followed her. Jughead had apparently been moved to the Bee's office. The bell rang Betty, Veronica, Archie and Dilton went to Ms. Grundy's class. Even though Jughead was sick they all still had to go to class, Ms. Grundy called roll "Jughead Jones." Archie stated "He got sick in the cafeteria." Betty looked away from Ms. Grundy and out the window and saw Ms. Jones arrived at school to pick up Jughead early. Betty wished that her mom could pick her up this day was downright horrible. Archie Andrew was going steady with Veronica Lodge. Betty felt like she was going to cry. Someone passed her a note it simply read "A+V=R+B – Love Reggie Mantle" Betty crumbled up the note. Betty didn't want to date Reggie Mantle; she didn't think that she could date anyone now that Archie and Veronica were going steady. Betty looked out the window and wondered what had caused Juggie to get sick. Ron told her that Juggie hadn't eaten anything. Betty knew one thing that if she didn't get out of this classroom she was going to burst into tears right then and there. Betty raised her hand "Yes, Betty." Ms. Grundy said. Betty replied "Ms. Grundy can I please go call my mother I have a bad headache." Ms Grundy replied "Of course Betty, Here's your homework." Betty didn't mind the work she just wanted to get out of school so that way she could cry without anyone seeing her. Betty called her mom "Mom I'm coming home can you talk to Mr. Weatherbee so that way he doesn't give me a detention." Ms. Cooper noticing her daughter's weepy voice replied "Yes I can and Betty why don't you treat yourself at Pop Tate's I'll pay the tab later." Betty smiled Pops' always cheered her up. She stated "Okay thanks Mom." She then handed the phone to Mr. Weatherbee he nodded his head allowing Betty to leave as he talked to Ms. Cooper.
